Duck and Goose Calls

“What started as just a dream to try and build my own calls, from the wood off my land that was once was my grandfathers, has turned into something I couldn’t have ever imagined.”

My love for woodworking and career in waterfowl hunting makes the perfect mix when it comes to call building. Knowing how a call needs to sound before even thinking of selling it and then using my knowledge of woodworking and call building to make certain that every call is one of a kind craftsmanship with a lifelike sound.

All my calls are Duck or Goose are priced the same in Canadian $.

Local Woods $150 / Exotic $200 / Local-Exotic Mix $175

Local Woods : Ash, Maple, Cherry, Black Walnut, Beech, Yellow Birch, Cedar Exotic Woods: African Black Wood, Purple/Yellow/Red heart, Lignum Vitae, Cocobolo, Claro Walnut, Red Cedar, Wenge, Bloodwood, Rosewood and plenty more. If I don’t have it I will do my best to get it.

For custom carved calls, local woods and softer exotic woods are easier to work with. All calls come with copper/SS/brass/aluminum bands. All calls can have inlays upon requests. Most customers choose to have me custom design a call and I try to relate each call to the customer; whether it be where they are from, their profession or their favourite colour. No two calls are alike.

My short reed goose calls use a custom clucker gut. You decide local or exotic wood then you decide what types of each. I will provide you with suggestion that look and preform the best either together or on their own.

Length of Barrel and insert will change the performance of the call. In short the Longer calls have more back pressure making them easy to operate but you sacrifice volume and speed but you gain a more deep goosey sound. Short barrels are more high pitched, fast, snappy calls. They take more air to operate and are for the more advanced caller.

My ducks calls are J frame style calls. With a sound that took 3 years to perfect. I offer a cutdown hybrid style that has big bark, but a smooth top end, that doesn’t take a ton of air. A Majority of my calls are made from my Hunting jig. A little bark, with a little bite. Loud on top. Deep quacks on the bottom with a very nasally mid range, that takes low pressure to operate.
