About

As a kid I grew up in SE Ontario, Canada, where my father and grandfather
introduced me to hunting, trapping, fastpitch softball and woodworking. From there on that’s how I spent my early years; playing ball all summer, following them along trapping and hunting throughout the fall and winter.

During my fastball career I was fortunate to play ball all over North America as a left handed pitcher and accomplish some great goals. One of which was a Junior National Championship in 2010 with the Napanee Express and a U-19
International championships with Team Ontario. I pitched and hit my way through a lot of cities and towns. I was very fortunate to make a lot of great friends and meet a lot of great people.

Although I’d been taking people hunting since the age of 17 I didn’t start
guiding professionally until 2012 when I guided on the worlds largest waterfowl stage, Saskatchewan. There, I spent 7 years working for some really great outfits like Maddhatter, Prairies Edge and Habitat flats CPL. I was fortunate enough to work alongside some of the best guides and waterfowl callers in North America.

In 2017 I also started my own operation in Ontario, Alkerton Adventures, where we mainly do waterfowl but also specialize in turkey hunting. I also do a lot of bear and whitetail hunting when I can.

Now a majority of my time is spent working for my father’s business Nuisance Wildlife Control Inc. I work alongside my brother and some really great trappers. Trapping has been my only job and it’s been very good to us and taken us a lot of places all over North America and even Europe.

In the background of all that is where I learned woodworking and carpentry. In the winter months/off season is when I spend most of my days in the call shop building goose and duck calls.

It’s a busy lifestyle but with the support of my wife Chelsea and the addition of our newborn daughter River, it is very rewarding.
